When to host a Work event.

Last year has taught us a great deal and here we share the 5 golden rules to make the planning and prep for your event properly fruitful.

A good event is a well attended event and nothing upsets us more than ‘no shows’ when our brilliant clients put the time, effort and money to hosting a great client, staff or deal celebration event only to end up with an empty room.  Last year has taught us a great deal and here below we share the 5 golden rules to take in to account to make the planning and prep for your event properly fruitful.

No.1 - Your Industry Calendar

- Are you already hosting a training day or presentation for the industry that you could tag something fun on to, where all your ‘wanna be’ invitees might be in the same place

- Is there a “must attend” event in your industry year that you could piggy back on to make your business and people stand out from the crowd? Will everyone be in Mippin for Shedmasters or Milan for Fashion week? Being fast on your feet and theming an event to catch everyone whilst they’re abroad, bored and don’t want to be alone in their hotel rooms is a sure-fire way to fill a room.

If either of the above are a ‘yes’ then make the move.  We’ve done some brilliant ‘industry specific’ events that get a great turn out.

No.2 - The School Calendar

- Check it and avoid half terms, bank holidays and school holidays if you can. It’s really difficult to get a great turnout during these times as everyone would rather be with their families, or they’re on annual leave, especially the big hitters.

No. 3 – TWATS

-Go for a Wednesday or a Thursday evening

Ever since Covid we’ve seeing entertaining crammed in to
two nights of the week.  Tuesdays are
tough, Mondays are tougher and Fridays are a complete ‘no’ ‘no’.

“The best turnouts have been from an enticing invitation and sent by the right person with all the right follow up.”

No.4 – Avoid Jan & Dec for wine events

-Far too many people give up the vino in January

-far too many people have had far too much vino in December

No.5 – Make the invitation enticing, get on it out
early, and keep reminding people.

-Our most successful events have been planned
three months in advance with the invitations going out accordingly

-The best turnouts have been from an enticing invitation (which often we’ve helped with) and sent my the right person with all the right follow up.

Once you’ve removed school holidays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and the weekend you are left with just 57 days in which you can host an event. We still have 5 dates remaining in March. Please contact us if you’re interested in booking one of these or any other remaining dates this year, April is already filling up.

Our hosts know a lot about wine, but that’s just the beginning. Anyone can attend 6 months of courses on viticulture and fermentation techniques but what we think is really important is the ability to make that information fun and engaging.

Our hosts all have the ability to make wine come alive and we can’t wait to show you.
