Châteaux Poujeaux, Cru Bourgeois Moulis, Bordeaux, France, 2019

Poujeaux is always right up there with the finest of the Cru Bourgeois of Bordeaux but in this vintage they've really smashed it.  The blackcurrant like fruit is ripe, textured, silky and generous.  It's taking on that little bit of maturity too that's allowing the hint of pencil lead and tobacco leaf to come through too.  Give it a couple of hours in a decanter and you're in for a treat, or, stash it away for another 5 to 10 years and you're in for an even bigger treat.
