Ciacci Piccolomini Toscana Rosso IGT, Italy, 2023

I’m often underwhelmed with Tuscan reds but this one’s a complete cracker.  It’s rich, meaty, soft and supple - full of old school charm and chewy black fruit.  Ciacci Piccolomini have an enviable reputation in Tuscany and this delicious red is one of the reasons why - I’d rather drink this over quite a few Brunellos & Chiantis I can think of 😋
