David Moret is my undisputed king of white burgundy for the money ... and now he's making reds, and this is heavenly.  Marsannay is the first proper stop in the Côte de Nuits as you drive south.  It makes powerful yet elegant wines with heaps of spicy red fruit.  This is completely beautiful - how I'd imagine a well made Gevrey-Chambertin to taste for much less money 😀
